Current Goal

Last year (2002), my owner finally completed a big goal of his by visiting all 50 states in the country--plus D.C. and Puerto Rico! Now that he's in to Geocaching, his new goal is to visit a cache in all of the states--and my goal is to beat him! I'm trying to visit a cache in each of the 50 states, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico, before returning home to Atlanta, Georgia.

The Journey Begins!

I am trying to visit a cache in each of the 50 U.S. States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, then get back to Atanta, Georgia.

If you can't take me to a new state, don't worry! You can still pick me up and move me to another cache! Can you move me a mile or two towards a state border?

  • My owner will take states off this list on my web page as you nice Geocachers move me around the country--If you're reading this on the paper copy that travels with me, would you cross off the new states with a pen or pencil and add your name and the date? There's also a map that my owner will be coloring in on the web page, and you can color it in on the printed copy if you want!

    If everything is crossed off and colored in, then it's time for me to go home at long last! Please move me towards Atlanta, Georgia!

    Because I'm on a very big adventure, I may need a little more help than the average travel bug. Can you please, please help me out in the following ways:

    --If you take me to a new state, cross it off the list. That helps me keep going to new places!

    --Please try to move me in the direction of states I haven't been to yet! It's OK if you can't actually take me to a new state, but try to give me a push in the right direction, even only if it's a couple of miles.

    --If the paper copy of my goal sheet is starting to get ratty, could you print out a fresh one from my web page? Same way, if my little ziplock baggie is wearing out, I'd sure appreciate a new one!

    --If my necklace is starting to come off, a little super glue or something like it would really make my day!

    --Two things I worry about are getting placed in a cache that gets stolen, and getting placed in a cache that is so obscure that no-one ever goes there! I guess it's kind of like Goldilocks...I need a cache that's just right! I'd be really grateful to you if you'd try not to place me in one of those high-visibility, high-traffic-area caches that seems to disappear before too long. Also, please try not to stick me in a cache that only has one entry from "SherlockHolmes22B" dated a hundred years ago!

    --If you have a digital camera, I love having my picture taken. You can upload a picture of me in some new, exotic locale to the web page. Also, I just LOVE taking baths...ahh, it makes me get all squeaky just thinking about a hot bath...

    Ducky got bored waiting for me at work. When I wanted to leave I searched all over for him. I found him in the Univeristy of Manitoba's computer room Sun bathing on our High Performance Computing box and contemplating the square root of minus one.

    This Ducky was looking for a lift South after his Canadian holiday so I thought I'd pick him up and take him with us when we go across the border this weekend. With luck we'll find a North Dakota cache for him to visit.

    On a rainy Duckie day I found the All-American Rubber Ducky at Sledding Hills (N 44° 58.574 W 092° 44.472). Heading to Winnipeg next weekend via MN, ND. I'll find Duckie a safe resting spot along the way.
