Current Goal

On January 2, 2002, Outlaw Willy escaped from the ROOT HOLLOW caches north of Chicago, IL. His goal was to flee the country before the law dawgs could catch him. After 11 months of being on the lam, he finally found refuge on a south pacific island. Now Willy's goal has changed. He's homesick and wants to return to ROOT HOLLOW cache.

About This Item

Please help Willy on his way back home. Pictures of this trip would be a bonus. Side trips are okay but he'd really like to be home soon.

Willy has recently been spotted traveling in the Pacific Ocean. He has been traveling with Magellan's little thieves throughout the Islands. I have been tracking him and will update you when he has settled, or when I can set my GPS up properly. Either way he will be safely relaxing on the beach with one eye on the horizon looking for Woody.

A little corrective procedure here. Apparently Willy the Travel Bug was retrieved from this cache back in March but the geocacher(s) who took him didn't understand how Travel Bugs worked and didn't log his travels. As the owner I'm grabbing Willy (even though I haven't physically visited this cache) and will drop him where was supposedly transported.

I suspect Willy is still missing in action however. The geocachers who gave him a ride erroneously referred to him as Buzz in their logs (another character from Toy Story) and (based on the log reports of the new cache) may be missing with much of the cache's contents. I really don't know.

But at least Willy's travels and last location are now accurately recorded. Many thanks to Thesus for helping to solve part of the mystery of Where's Willy!

I picked up Willy the Outlaw today in the middle of a mild snowstorm. I gave him shelter, food and water and he gave my friend a good buise. I'll take him west this weekend.

Willie was retreived from Mantanzas cache and helped the 2 Silver Foxes geocache around SW Florida. He had fun sunbathing and was elated when he connected with EAVET#202339. He finally had to leave Florida and flew to Norwell, MA where he helped one of the foxes enter geo-info. He should be stashed in a cache soon.
