This trackable has reached its original goal to travel to the birthplace of the artist Pierre Bonnard – Fontenay-aux-Roses, Hauts-de-Seine in France or to travel that distance 3760 miles / 6051 km! Its NEW mission is to make its way back home to the McMaster Museum of Art in Hamilton, Ontario Canada.
Pierre Bonnard (1867-1947) was a French painter and printmaker. He is known for his intense use of colour and complex compositions. Bonnard did not paint from life and would first draw or photograph his subject. His compositions usually include sunlit interiors of rooms and gardens. The vitality and bustle of a city was the theme which attracted Bonnard most. He is also remembered as one of the founding members of Les Nabis – a group of Post-Impressionist artists who set the scale for fine arts and graphic arts in France during the 1980s. The McMaster Museum of Art in Hamilton, Ontario owns seven prints from Bonnard’s illustration of the play Simili, plus one lithograph called Les Boulevards.
Out doing some caches with our granddaughter on the first day of winter for some fresh air before the ice storm. Thought we'd grab this coin and take it on a trip and maybe leave it around Ottawa. TFTC. 🙂
