About This Item

AMTG 2006 Compass Rose Silver GC 1

Mid to large size coin with lots of heft. The front of this coin has lots of shine and translucent enamel work. The design is so delicate and has so much detail that it would take pages to describe it and do it justice. The reverse has nice background metal texture and rim work. The medallion has commercial design and colored enamel. The personal inscription says "huggy_d1". This is one of the best coins I have ever seen. An excellent coin for any year and a super coin for 2006. ------------ Coin info : Featuring a compass rose of Spanish origin from the late 1500s. This is an elaborate design. Details of the images in the compass points were created to be under the translucent colors. This was the first time translucent colors and the underlying design effect was used on geocoins and it started a new trend influencing many future geocoins which used translucent colors. We added the colored ring around the compass rose to add more detail and give it more of a nautical look. The colored ring features an underlying texture design which reflects light in a unique pattern.------------------So many of my trackables have been muggled that I only release new GCs as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks IL

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.
