To travel Middle-earth from one cache to another. May it forevermore avoid being plundered by trolls, goblins, (or muggles)!
"... There were bones on the floor and a nasty smell was in the air; but there was a good deal of food jumbled carelessly on shelves and on the ground, among an untidy litter of plunder, of all sorts from brass buttons to pots full of gold coins standing in a corner. There were lots of clothes, too, hanging on the walls -- too small for trolls, I am afraid they belonged to victims..." -- from The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
This coin is not of troll-make. It may have been minted in the Hidden Kingdom of Gondolin in the Elder Days, when the High Elves of the West made unceasing war upon the Goblins and their wicked Master. It must have come from a dragon's hoard or from goblin-plunder, for the armies of the Dark Lord destroyed that fair city many ages ago.
How it came to be here, who now can say?
