The Middle Tennessee Council serves Scouts and adult volunteers throughout the 37 counties of Middle Tennessee and Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
1932
MTC - The Cogioba Council was established. It eventually covered 17 counties, 15 in southern Kentucky and 2 in Tennessee - Montgomery and Stewart. Henry M. Lupton, the first Scoutmaster in Clarksville and also president of the Tobacco Manufacturing Company, named the council Cogioba, the West Indian word for black tobacco, because the council area included the richest tobacco-producing counties in the nation at the time.
