Retrieved from an event in Letchworth. This is a Garden City the first design in England...it was a small rural village in North Hertfordshire, until 1903 the development creating a new city "that provides jobs, services & good housing whilst retaining & maintaining good environmental qualities of a rural idyll which was a stark contrast to the other cities developed elsewhere in the country during that era"
The other unique feature of the 'city' is that the first roundabout in the country was built here in 1909 😉
