** This traveller is on a mission to return home to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada ** Originally, this geocoin commemorated the 8th Go & Get'em Event cache in Ottawa. It wanted to travel to as many event caches as possible to spread the word about Ottawa's famous 'GAG' events. There was hope that nobody would 'collect' this coin, and that it would circulate for others to find... but that wasn't to be. So now its doppelganger spreads the word about GAGE and about stolen/lost geotravellers!
The "Go & Get'em" series of event caches date back to the very first 'GAG' event on February 22nd, 2002 (GC35E3) where about 10 cachers attended. 'GAG 8' looks to have about 100 attendees! The events are always hosted by Tick & Nammie, and always attract a large number of visitors from outside Ottawa as well as local cachers. Consider this an invitation to attend the next 'Go & Get'em '! Cheers...
After going missing in May, 2006 in a muggled cache here in Ottawa, MountainLovers have made a nice little copy to stand in for the stolen coin and released it in California to travel around! It is currently on a mission to return home to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
The coin currently exists as a modified poker chip, with the tracking number for the coin. The original coin was a 2" diameter, 4mm thick copper coin weighing about 1.75 ounces.
My thanks to the people who put the resurrected copy out. It helped save some of the mission of this coin.
