Indy managed to make his way down to Key West, Florida and check out the southernmost point of the continental US and then to the easternmost point of North America and maybe learned a bit of history while at it. We'll be watching to see where he goes next.

  • Indiana Jones at Cape Spear lighthouse After visiting the southernmost point in the continental US, Indy headed north and east to the easternmost point in North America, Cape Spear, Newfoundland. The closer lighthouse is the newer one currently in use. The one in the backround is the oldest surviving lighthouse in Newfoundland, dating back to 1836.
  • Indiana Jones as far east as you can go! Indiana Jones trekked as far east as you can walk (without killing yourself!) in North America. Although there's no signage stating that this exact spot was the most easterly point, the GPS had confirmed it was, or at least pretty darn close. Indy gets snug on some rocks and poses for a picture with the Atlantic Ocean and the eastern horizon in the backround.
  • Indy inspects a cannon at an old WWII bunker Indiana Jones sits atop an old cannon which was used to protect North America against the axis forces in World War II. In the backround is the remnants of one of the bunkers and the building in the upper left is where the fog horn sounds I believe.
  • Indy at the most easterly point sign Indiana Jones poses by the sign stating that Cape Spear is the most easterly point in North America. In the backround, you can just make out Cabot Tower on Signal Hill on the left, the Atlantic Ocean splashing against the rocks, and one of those Danger signs telling you not to walk down there or you'll kill yourself.

Indiana Jones will contine to find adventure with us for awhile. We will take some pictures with him and post them before we drop him off in his next cache.

  • Indy tries tree climbing! Upon being released from the Pine Cone Trail cache in Miami, Indiana Jones tries tree climbing on for size on this sturdy pine near the cache site.
  • Indy's out on a limb! While exploring the pine further, Indiana Jones finds himself close to falling from the branches, but his beefy arm keeps him sturdy!
  • Indy at the southernmost point monument Indiana Jones' adventures take him next to Key West, Florida where he discovers the southernmost point in the Continental US! It then started to rain so Indy quickly posed for a picture before running for cover.

Grab It (Not from a Cache) 11/2/2004 wcfw grabbed it   Visit Log

Found this in Indrio Savannahs #2 in the Ft. Pierce area. Boog_er_bear left a DNF log on the page, and must have found the cache and dropped it off at a later date, but didn't log the find and drop.

I am taking the lonely guy down to Miami to see what adventures he can find there.
