Current Goal

Arliss, the orange cat, was the first cat I ever knew. He must have been nearing 15 years old when I was born, and he lived until my fifth year, however in that short time he surely made an impression on me. To this day stories of his unique toughness toward those who threatened him and his comforting nature towards those he chose to love still live on in my family. And when we start telling stories of old "Ollie" I usually find myself transported into a dream-like nostalgic state; he was such a big part of my early childhood, I will always love him. In Arliss'  honor this coin would like to travel to places which remind you of peaceful childhood memories or memories of loved ones past.

About This Item

This coin, much like its namesake, is very beautiful and many people would probably like to keep it. So please place it in a cache which is very secure and has little chance of being muggled. And if you do find it, please keep it moving and avoid adding it to your own collection. Also if you could please take a few moments here and explain your reason for placing this coin where you did and how it’s related to your childhood memory. Good Luck and Happy Caching!!

This is a great Coin. I don't like cats but they have a way of seeping into your Life. Madison was a Russian Blue and of pretty good size. If he wasn't running ahead of you to get there first (How did he know where I was going?), he would trot just ahead of you and flip over on his back with his four paws reaching skyward. A belly rub and he would go and seak out the warmth of the last place I had sat.

Cache On and Enjoy,

ORNITH

When I was young my family would travel from the San Francisco bay area up to the Seattle-Tacoma area quite frequently for vacations, family visits, or even to go to the world's fair (Vancouver 1986). We always rode by car because my parents did not agree with flying. Rather they piled us in the back of a campersheled pick-up truck and off we went, many times with us children wrestling around over fruit snacks on the large spread out comforter and piled floor pillows all while the family cat Arliss, or later Tyson watched on froma leashed off corner of this mobile mess. So last week when my brother "NinjaDuck" suggested we blitz up to Groundspeak and back in a 30 hour window I knew it was going to bring back momories. It was going to be awesome!!! and finally I was going to have just the place to drop this coin. I miss you Ollie, I miss you old truck, but most of all I miss you 1983-87
