When we moved far across the country my mother decided to send a travel bug after us. After quite a few caches it finally made it to one just a few miles from our home about one week before we moved back so our kids could be near their grandparents. I didn't think I was going to have time to go retrieve it because we were very busy with final touch ups and showing the house, but I got a couple hour lull one day and called mom to say, "hi". She said, "Well if you've got a lull, you should run over and see if you can find that bug! Or I'm going to have to change the instructions to make it follow you all the way back across the country".
I found it. :)
I suggested sending it on another trip, but mom said this one was a keepsake, so I've retired it. The kids love geocaching, perhaps we'll send our own bug on some long travels in the near future.
