Current Goal

This is our son Chases travel bug. It's name is Bony Fish, and he is a prehistoric fish. Chase loves prehistoric creatures and fossils and would like Bony Fish to travel all over the United States to visit caches relating to prehistoric history and fossils. See these links for some of the caches Bony Fish would like to visit, can you help him to his goals?

Please take pictures along the way and post them so Chase can see what his 'Bug is up to and where he has been! He would be especially thrilled if he could see his Travel Bug with a real Dinosaur Fossil!!

Found in sunny, dry San Diego. Not too many fossils here, although I have some bones from an 80-foot blue whale, currently the largest animal on the planet. Maybe I can take some pictures of those.

Hope Bony fish likes the tropical weather in San Diego! It should be a big change from Erie Pennsylvania! Maybe he will have a swim in the pacific ocean while he is here.
Happy trails my friend!

Found Bony fish in a snowbank today. He asked for a ride to a good swimming hole. He will hang out with me for a few days, then we are off for a warm swim in the pacific ocean.

  • Bony fish with dinosaur skull and other fossils Bony fish wanted to check out my skull museum while he was here. Here he is by one of my fossil oreodont skulls I found in the badlands of South Dakota. The skull is still in the rock, but is very visible. There are also a couple trilobites and a large shark tooth from Morocco, and my favorite, a brain cast from another oreodont. I found the brain cast in a wash near the Badlands Nat'l monument in South Dakota. About 50 feet away I found the crest of the skull, that perfectly fits the top o
  • Another pic. The skull is facing the TB. You can see the right side of it's face. It's easier to see when you have it in your hands, because there is still alot of rock around the skull. I never bothered to finish cleaning it.... guess you will have to trust me...
