This is a keeper, that I will retain as a collector's item. I plan to show and share it at Geocaching events, with friends and fellow geocachers who can Discover and log it.
This is a very nice geocoin I received for attending the Powers of Ten Multi Event in Bend, Oregon while vacationing at Depoe Bay on the Oregon Coast. It was partly to celebrate the date of the event, October 10, 2010 (10/10/10). But also, this was one of many events held globally on this date in an organized effort (successful!) to set a record for the number of geocachers worldwide who logged at least one cache or event on a single day (hopefully, without crashing the servers!).
We met and made many new friends in Oregon while attending the very popular dining event, and hope to stay in touch with some of them, at least. There were more than 250 people in attendance, certainly one of the biggest such events we (BooDogMama and I) have attended. We took over the Izzy's Restaurant where it was held. The event sponsors presented many very nice door prizes too.
