Current Goal

The coin says: "Yosemite Park is a place of rest, a refuge from the roar and dust and weary, nervous, wasting work of the lowlands, in which one gains the advantages of both solitude and society - John Muir"

This geocoin wishes to travel to similar places: woods, forests, hills and mountains.

About This Item

The Scottish naturalist John Muir (1838-1914) was responsible for the establishment of California's Yosemite National Park, and was a founding father of the world conservation movement. What he said 100 years ago, is even more true in the 'civilised' world today:

Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life.

The Yosemite geocoin has been drilled through with holes in an attempt to discourage the scum who like to "collect" (ie steal) other people's geocoins. Anyone caught stealing this coin will be publicly castrated.

Please do not log this geocoin if you have not gone to the trouble of finding it in a physical cache. No Event caches please. Logs suspected of being virtual swaps will be deleted.

This is not a regular trading item. This geocoin is a travel bug with a mission. If you do not intend to log your visit, please do not take this item. Please try to place it in another cache within a fortnight.
