Current Goal

Originally with the aim of travelling to Japan, around the Japanese Islands and then home to the UK, this coin has now been retired and forms part of my collection.

 

About This Item

The Flag of the Rising Sun

This coins brings thoughts, prayers and hope to the people of Japan. It is a limited edition coin sold to raise funds for victims of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami that devastated the country causing loss of life and widespread destruction. At the time that it was released, workers were still battling to save the crippled nuclear power plant at Fukushima. 

It was last held by Liam Moore aka Liammoore1991 who sadly died soon afterwards in a road accident. It has since been returned to me by his parents who came upon it among his possessions. This coin now serves to bear witness to his memory as well as to those who died at Fukushima

It was great to be able to look through the owners coin collection at Geocoinfest 2019 in Manchester.I also bought a Tank coin to support the Lincolnshire Mega.
My Sussex pen is running out. So I hope there'll be Lincolnshire pens at the Yorkshire Christmas Fayre.
