Current Goal

"Bart Jr." travels the Bay Area Ridge Trail clockwise; visiting every park with a segment of the Ridge Trail in it (where Geocaching is allowed, which is determined by the managing agency of that park). But Jr cannot travel too far from home, so only visits parks in Santa Clara & San Mateo Counties. This will requite a trip across the San Francisco Bay, when Jr. reaches northern border of San Mateo County.

Bart Jr. (this Travel Bug) started in Almaden Quicksilver County Park, in San Jose, CA 10/23/10, & is racing ‘the Junior Councilor” (another travel bug) around these 2 counties, back to the start.

About This Item

TB Trail Sign

The Bay Area Ridge Trail is a proposed 550+ mile hiking & ridging trail along the ridgelines and hilltops circling San Francisco Bay. There are currently more than 330 miles of Ridge Trail open to the public, and preserved for future generations. When complete, the Ridge Trail will connect more than 70 parks and open spaces.

The Bay Area Ridge Trail Council is the non-profit working to plan, acquire, design, build, care for, and promote the Ridge Trail. The Council works in close partnership with agencies and local government, parks, land trusts, and other stakeholders and volunteers to complete the vision of a continuous trail around the Bay Area, for hikers, cyclists and equestrians.  To learn more, visit www.ridgetrail.org

Picked this up whilst on a venture in Almaden Quicksilver County Park. Looks like it was mysteriously moved back to near its starting point. It was not on Wood Road - which seems to be the Bay Area Ridge Trail route through the park.

We saw it while hiking with Kanchan. We didn't pick it up as we weren't sure that we would be able to find a Bay Area Ridge Trail cache soon to put it in. It's not in the Nazgul cache, though.

I discovered it in a cache in Almaden Quicksilver, but I didn't note which cache it was. I didn't pick it up.
