Current Goal

Hi! I’m Fereleth the Fibroduck.

My mission is to travel as much of the world as possible spreading awareness of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue/ME.

Please when you have found me take the time to take a photograph of yourself with me and upload it to the website www.fibroduck.com so others can see how far I am travelling.

About This Item

Fereleth the Fibroduck ready to depart

I have been named Fereleth as that means ‘Carrier of light’ and I wish to carry the light of knowledge to all those who have never heard of Fibromyalgia and to those suffering with it that feel that it is a largely invisible condition that people  often disregard.

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition of widespread pain and profound fatigue thought to affect at least 1 in 20 people. There is no cure and the only treatments widely available are painkillers and anti-depressants.

Imagine having the flu, the aches and pains and tiredness, this is us on a good day. On a bad day the pain is much worse and we may not be able to get out of bed at all. Many with this condition are bed-bound or house-bound, others like myself are still managing to work but finding it a daily struggle and simple things like housework and shopping get left as there just isn’t the energy to do those as well.

Other symptoms of Fibromyalgia are Depression, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Fatigue, Migraines, Sleep disorder, Cognitive or memory impairment, Dizziness, Temporo-mandibular Joint Disfunction, Irritable Bladder, Sensitivities to noises, odours and bright lights.

At 36 I have been told I have Fibromyalgia, this to me means I have been told I will be in pain for the rest of my life, not an easy thing to live with.
Please help spread awareness.

Retrieve It from a Cache 9/9/2019 DFRobski retrieved it from Between a rock and a hard place Nova Scotia, Canada   Visit Log

Found Fereleth in a cache not too far from home, safe and sound after facing Hurricane Dorian. Super excited to help out on their journey as well as spread awareness of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue/ME.

Fereleth has made some new friends, all unique themselves. They were so excited to meet a world traveler and learn all about them. Fereleth fits right in, accepted and loved until their journey continues. Maybe Digby, NS? Or Cuba in November? Wherever, Fereleth will once again go forth carrying the light of knowledge and awareness.

We will keep you posted!
