This travel bug wants to go far and wide, but especially to places associated with Strawberries. It will consider it's mission complete if it reaches caches in these areas:
Beewah, Queensland – a major Australian strawberry production area
Yarra Valley, Victoria – another major Australian strawberry production area
The Big Strawberry, Koonoomoo, Victoria – a monument and tourist trap dedicated to the humble strawberry
Strawberry Fields, Central Park, New York - there are no strawberries here, nor were there ever as far as we can tell, but it's probably the most famous place named after strawberries.
Plant City, Florida - the winter strawberry capital of the world and home of the annual Florida Strawberry Festival in the late winter, which is attended by people from all over the United States as well as many people from around the world
Brittany, France - the garden strawberry was first cultivated here in 1740
Wimbledon, United Kingdom - strawberries are famously consumed here with cream by spectators of the All-England Tennis Championship
I love strawberries - I'm definitely one of the largest individual consumers in the southern hemisphere. Well maybe that's an exaggeration, but I do definitely eat a heck of a lot. The strawberry flavor is one of the most popular in the world, reproduced in an amazing variety of products. Strawberries are not only delicious, they also have great health benefits. They are a rich source of both vitamin C and flavonoids - a powerful antioxidant with cancer preventing properties.
So this travel bug is dedicated to my favorite fruit, and I hope it passes through the hands of many fellow strawberry lovers.
