Current Goal

GeoTikitour will tour geocaches far and wide on a tikitour*  from the USA  to New Zealand.

GeoTikitour would like to experience New Zealands' Maori culture and scenic beauty before being picked up by my geocaching sister in Whangarei, New Zealand.

While on his travels, please help to build a large image album of caches visited.

About This Item

Geotikitour

* "tikitour"  is a term used by kiwis.  A tikitour takes you to a place in a roundabout way - you may have been lost and see the sights along the way, but you got to your destination in the end.

According to Maori myth, Tiki was the first man created by Tane.  Tiki also refers to large human figures carved in wood, and, also the small wooden carvings used to mark sacred places.

The hei-tiki  is an ornamental pendant of the New Zealand Maori which is worn around the neck. Hei-tiki are usually made of greenstone, and are considered a treasure.

Dropped Off 9/25/2016 PNW_Navigator placed it in The other side of the Falls Washington - 4,853.19 miles  Visit Log

This is an older cache in Washington State, placed on 15 April 2001. "The other side of the Falls" refers to Snoqualmie Falls, a beautiful waterfall in western Washington. The GZ used to have a nice view of the waterfall from the south side, but many trees have grown up and block the view. Therefore, I have attached a picture of the Falls that was taken at a downstream location.
