We are launching this Last Space Shuttle-Atlantis Travel Bug on the same day as the actual Shuttle Launch.
It would be great to see this Shuttle Travel to as many caches as possible around the earth just like the actual Atlantis Shuttles mission. May this Shuttle Atlantis fly for many years.
Ultimate Goal: Travel to Cape Canaveral and back to land some day in California down near the CA Shutttle landing strip. IF SOMEONE ACCOMPLISHES, PLEASE TAKE PICTURES AND POST THEM!!!
NASA space shuttle Atlantis STS-135 which launched on July 8, 2011 is the final shuttle mission which will close a 30+ year run of Space Shuttle flights. Atlantis final mission will be to deliver the raffaello multipurpose logistics module to the international space station with supplies and spare parts. This mission will also fly a system to investigate the potential for robotically refueling existing spacecraft and to return a failed ammonia pump module to help NASA better understand the failure mechanism and improve pump designs for future systems. Atlantis 12 day mission will be flown by, Commander Christopher Ferguson, Pilot Douglas Hurley and mission specialists Sandra Magnus and Rex Walheim.
