The mission of this travel bug is to remind each person that comes in contact with it that the price of freedom is not free.
About This Item
Freedom is not something to be taken lightly. Maintaining that freedom has a cost and that cost can be measured by the blood, sweat and tears of the countless American citizens that have answered their nations call and for some have paid the ultimate price to defend the freedoms we all enjoy. To that end, the goal of this travel bug is simple: The current holder of the TB is to visit one of the 131 National Cemeteries in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico, or one of the 14 Department of Interior national Cemeteries, or one of the 24 overseas Military Cemeteries and 25 Memorials, Monuments and Markers around the world.
A comprehensive list of National Cemeteries can be found at the following Veterans Administration web site with additional links to other federal, overseas and state cemeteries.

Please show reverence when visiting these sacred places and most of all, please "DO NOT FORGET" those that have placed their life on the line to defend the freedom that you and all of us enjoy.
Further instructions:
1. Should you come across this TB, chances are it is near a National Cemetery. Please, go forth and visit. Walk the line after line of headstones that mark the final resting place of countless service Men and Women that have served this great nation. You are not required to spend hours looking at headstones. All you are asked to do is go to one plot, read the name and utter these simple words: "Thank You". Nothing else is required.
2. If you are able, purchase a small United States Flag (the kind attached to a small dowel rod) and place it next to a headstone.
3. Again, if you are able, please take a photo of the entrance of the National Cemetery that you have visited and post it along with your field notes from this adventure.
4. After you have paid your respects, find a new home for this travel bug so that it can go forth and find another deserving American that will visit another National Cemetery and again pay respects to those who have sacrificed so much.
Thank you
