Hope you've enjoyed the short trip from Congleton down the Macclesfield Canal. I've spent a week cruising the Macclesfield and Upper Peak canals with stoneballs bass and geodog Holly on the good narrow boat "Lothbury Lady" 😎. At a cruising speed of 2-3mph, this is not so much a "dash", more a leisurely "cache and cruise". This is our last day before leaving the boat at Scholar Green and returning to Sheffield, so I'm glad we found a cache big enough for you (hope it's still in Cheshire). Good luck with the rest of your trip.

    • Passing a "snake" bridge on the Macclesfield Canal These bridges were built to allow the horse to cross the canal without being unhitched when the towpath changed sides.
