Beetle FISH is trying tracing his family ancestoral migrations across Michigan, New York, Connecticut, and across the Atlantic to Liecestershire County, in England
Beetle FISH is retracing the steps of his ancestors. His ancestors began with Augustine FYSHE in Great Bowden Parish, in the County of Liecestershire, in England in the mid 1500's. By the 1650's, his FISH family had migrated to Groton, CT. Generations passed, and Beetle FISH's family eventually settled in Stewart's Corners and Venice, Cayuga County, NY. The family continued to move westward, and by 1823, was in Lancaster, Erie County, NY (now a present day suburb of Buffalo). By 1870, they had settled in south-central Michigan.
Beetle FISH many distinct goals:
1. Get his picture taken in the area of Lancaster, Erie County, NY
2. Get his picture taken in the area of Venice, Cayuga County, NY.
3. Get his picture taken in Groton and Mystic Harbor, CT
4. Get his picture taken in the Old Parish Church in the little village of Great Bowden, in Liecestershire County, England.
He will share the pictures with the family at their next reunion.
The parish church in Great Bowden, is on the north side of the public green. The south entrance is through the south porch. Inside the north wall of the chancel is the FISH tablet, erected to the memory of Henrietta (FARMER), wife of Augustine FISH. Upon the tablet are engraved the Arms of the FISH and FARMER families. Beetle FISH wants his picture taken next to this tablet.
