I am a practicing Emergency Physician, and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine is an organization that stands up for everything that is right with in my field. I got this pin when I recently lectured at their annual conference. I know that you don't really get to choose your doctor when you go to an ER for care, but just know that if you are getting care in an American ER and the doc is "FAAEM" you are getting care from a doc who has been through rigorous training, passed official speciality board exams, and is qualified to take care of you.
