Current Goal

This is Wiley Coyote, Chiggie's Husband, and off we go into the wild blue yonder! Prior to joing the US Army in 1995 I was an Airman in the Airforce from 1990 to 1994. In Mid July 1990 I had just turned 18 and went down to Lackland AFB for basic training. The dirt bag recruiter, who processed me in, said basic training was only 6 weeks long. What he failed to mention was it was 6 "duty day" weeks, meaning weekends and holidays didnt count! So, we were there for 7 weeks and 2 days! After basic I ended up going to Tech School as a Security Police Law Enforcement Journeyman. After that I went to Ft. Dix New Jersey for Air Base Ground Defence Training. I reported to the 2854th SPS Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City and ended up in Saudia Arabia guarding the "NEW" F117 stealth fighters (which are really precision bombers) during Operation Desert Storm.  After 3 months of ODS I returned to Tinker AFB where my unit was reassigned as the 654th SPS. from mid 1991 to mid 1994 (the remainder of my enlistment) I worked the Gates,  qualified as a Patrolman and eventually became a Dispatcher.  By early 1994 a Democratic Congress and old Mr. Cigar himself, Bill Clinton, started dismanteling our military exactly what going on right now! At my 3 year and 6 month mark, I was given the "pink slip" . The notice mentioned I would be honorablly discharged, not entitled to any military benifits other than GI Bill usage, I would be barred from reenlistment, and I had 6 months to get my affairs in order to transition back to civilian life! I remember my last duty day I had a mandatory interview with this junior officer I had never seen before in my unit. He asked what I thought, and what was I going to do with the rest of my life? He really could have cared less and only spoke with me for about 10 minutes not writting anything down on his note pad! I left with 60 days terminal leave going back home to my Dad's house in Gardner KS. I never got any recognition for all the time and hard work I did for that unit. I didnt even get a seperation award, going away plack, going away hail and fair well lunch, a good job followed by a pat on the a**, or even a simple hand shake from my First Sergeant or Squadron Commander! Talk about "Dont let the door hit you where the good Lord split you"! At that time I was very disappointed on how my ungrateful unit handeled my seperation unlike what the Army does for seperating Soldiers today. I made some good friends back then and I will never forget them or some of the crazy things we had to respond too from time to time. I still stay in contact with my old friend Dino B. I got to keep my my Security Police Badge which I still have on display, some of my old uniforms and my old USAF ID card.  My records are intact because I smart enough back then to have saved everything in a binder, thank God! I still have my origional enlistment orders, GI Bill, contracts, to my final 201 file with origional certified stamp proving my 4 years of service.  I am about to retire out of the Army and need those documents as proof I have served 22 years, 4 of those being active duty with the USAF.
