About This Item

Maisto the Hauler

Please in your logs do not post the Travel Bug number! The number is only for those people who pick Maisto up and log him in. He wishes to visit the Eiffel Tower, Easter Island, The North Island of New Zealand and Antarctica. Not necessarily in that order. With his six big blue wheels, he can handle any terrain!

Discovered It 9/15/2023 MiriCach discovered it   Visit Log

TL;DR: We don't have the trackable (and feel sorry for you if it means it is still missing), but stumbled upon its discovery code.

The story: I discovered this trackable/coin when I cracked the cache "Msportis Coinlihaus der 2." and then was able to reverse-engineer some Coins/TBs of the owner Msporti as well. By pure chance / luck while testing out possibilities for this I also came across this TB/coin. We hope that it's okay that we discover it, if not, feel free to delete this log. TFTC/TFTT 😉

Had to have Maisto pull me out of the mud from where I located him waiting for a traveling companion. I was sliding around in the mud and tangeled in the barbed wire, but he helped me out.

Will help him on his way.

We found Maisto the Hauler and he watched a Blue Angel show from our house in Kailua. He is now in a Hawaii 'Garden of Eden'.

Mug's crew finally found a cache spot designated difficulty 1/1. We dropped off Maisto the Hauler in a simple cache so our kids could enjoy. Cache spot named "Nimby". Good Luck Maisto. We hope to meet up in New Zealand some day. We will miss seeing you in our car. Maistro we hope you learn some Hawaiian culture while in town.

This was our first ever geocaching experience! We were thrilled when we found Maisto the Hauler travel bug in it! After a few wrong turns, scratches from branches, and kids turning back, Mug 1 found it. We found it in the "if your at Smith and Moorehouse" cache in Utah. Maisto feels like to get closer to his goal of going to New Zealand's North Island he will have to stop in Oahu, Hawaii. Look for him in the next couple of weeks! (middle to late July)

I left Maisto in the four mile and climbing cache on 7/24/03. He was hibernating waiting for the right temperature before emerging from his den. He had a clear case of ODD (oppositional defiant disorder) and refused to emerge until the temp warmed up. We decided that several days of above 100 degrees qualified as warm enough so we finally sent him on his way.

I don't know where this TB has been since Feb but somehow he ended up in the 4 Miles and Climbing cache near Jordanelle Dam in Utah. This TB has traveled far and the cache where I found it was in a neat location.
