My mission is to travel to caches near scenic or historic areas. You know, photo-op spots! Take a photo of the area with your own camera, if possible, and post it here along with your log!

About This Item

Old Camera Travel Bug

I'm an Old Camera. Specifically, I'm a 'Baby Brownie' manufactured by Kodak. I use 127 size film, which you can't find very easily these days. I liked taking photos back in my day and still like traveling to scenic and historical places.

My owner, FullQuiver (and family) thought that instead of sitting on a shelf, I could go visit those places and report back with YOUR help! So take a photo of the scenic or historical place and let us know where it is. The FullQuiver family will be watching and probably do a home school history lesson on some of the places.

Oh, there is a surprise inside me! Go ahead and carefully open me as if you were going to replace the film. (please be careful--my leather strap is somewhat fragile). Rolled up on one of my spools, you will find a small log of all the cachers I've visited. If you'd like, please write your name, date and location on the roll, too. Thanks!

Wow! Isn't this camera a collector's item? I would guess it is very valuable. I will take good care of it and move it on soon. For now, here is a photo of Chollas Lake in the Lemon Grove area of San Diego.

Almost forgot to write in this log! This place has some historical significance, so I hope Old Camera appreciates it. And now for something completely different, I'm leaving a picture that's not exactly touristy or historical...

  • New Bike, New Adventures I just got a new foldable bike and I used it to find a cache to drop off Old Camera. Unfortunately, I didn't know it would be all off-road riding, but the Dahon Helios XL handled flawlessly!

I guess The Fun Group was having so much fun, they forgot to officially drop this off at the 1796 cache in San Diego, CA! They haven't logged in to that cache either, so I'm thinking I picked it up before they could get to a computer. 😉 In any case, I have it now and I'll drop it off ASAP.
