Matey has done some bad things in his life, so has given up the "Seven Seas" and now is on the run. He has to keep on moving to avoid the "law" now on his tail. So, please keep Matey moving. Short spurts, long journeys - it doesn't matter. Just don't let the "law" catch him. It is too dangerous to stay in one place for a long time. Move him on!
Found Matey at The Great Genesee River Deer Run cache on 1/4/02 and decided to make him a "travel bug". His seafaring days are over, and since he was found on the Genesee River, can only assume that he lost his ship somewhere along nearby Lake Ontario. Now that his wrecked ship has been located the authorities are looking for him, but he really wasn't such a bad guy. He was sort of a "Robin Hood", taking from the rich and given to the poor.
