I generally subscribe to the “trade up, trade even, or don’t trade” decree, but do not feel that this applies to travel bugs or Geocoins.
The primary role of bugs and coins is to travel. Secondary to that, they serve as a thrilling prize to the finder, who then bears the responsibility of moving the hitchhiker to the next destination. The excitement is then had by the next finder and so on.
Keeping with my philosophy, I generally frown upon “discovering” coins and bugs that are not circulated and only displayed at events. If you want to log it…find it!
Therefore, please keep my coins & bugs moving so that all may enjoy their beauty and pleasure of the find!
