So my family recently started Geocaching and my 5 year old son is really into it. I want to use this experience to teach him about the 50 states; hey you're never too young to start!
So the mission is to see all 50 states - and then travel back to us in New York (Hudson Valley/Catskills Region). When you find this bug, please post a picture. For example, take a picture of either those who found it, or of something that is near the cache or unique to your state. This may be hard in lots of locations, but if you find the bug near Mt. Rushmore, take a pic of Mt. Rushmore. If you find it on the beach in California, take a picture of something on the beach. If you have time, also post a quick note about the area where the bug was found or the place where you live. Make it interesting!
Please keep our bug moving, and help to keep my 5 year old excited about our new hobby and all he (and we) can learn about this great country of ours!
Thanks fellow Geocacher, and best to you and yours!
This bug is attached to a laminated sheet that describes the mission and description. It also has some brief information on the back about its place of origination: Sullivan County, NY. Sullivan County is home to lots of cool places and things to do, including the site of the world renowned 1969 Woodstock Music Festival which is now home to the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. We are also home to many bald eagles, the Catskill Mountains and many natural resources including reservoirs that serve as the water supply for New Your City which is only about 75 miles away!
Please enjoy the brief notes about Sullivan County that are attached to the bug and keep it moving! Also, if the bug comes loose from its attachment, please do your best to fix it. Much appreciated!
