This trackable is unusual for its survivorship. In the years 2010 to the present, collections of 100 to 400 travel bugs have been annually released in the United States (95%) and Europe (5%). This travel bug is part of the mere three percent of the 2010-14 releases that had been retrieved and dropped off at least 25 times and had been active for at least five years before going missing. As of 6-Jan-18, this particular TB had been moved by 32 cachers and had had been in circulation for 6.5 years (2390 days).
Please drop this item in rural OR Premium Member Only caches. Do not place it in an urban cache or abandon it at a caching event. Transport the bug in the original plastic bag for as long as the bag lasts; the bag keeps the trackable clean and prevents tangling with other items. Otherwise, take the travel bug anywhere you wish. No permission is needed to leave the U.S.
Travel bug photos in the logs are appreciated. I will re-post them here, where they can be seen by other cachers.
Patch of the Flag of Central African Republic. To older generations this country was the French Congo. The flag of the Central African Republic was adopted on December 1, 1958. It was designed by Barthélemy Boganda, the first president of the autonomous territory of Oubangui-Chari, who believed that "France and Africa must march together." Thus he combined the blue, white and red of the French tricolour and the Pan-African colors red, green and yellow.
According to its official description, red symbolizes the blood of the people of the nation, the blood that was spilt in order to bring it independence, and the blood that they would spill to protect their nation. Blue represents the sky and freedom. White represents peace, and dignity. Green represents hope, and faith. Yellow represents tolerance.
