Would like it to eventually make its way to Normandy. From there - the world!
The U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division was issued clickers (a.k.a., crickets), just prior to D-Day (June 6, 1945). The purpose was to allow the paratroopers to find their comrades without revealing themselves. One click was used to ask for identification; two, the correct answer. This is a reproduction we bought when visiting the Normandy beaches (with Captain Bligh) in April 2008.

On we go.
Husband mbooda visited Normandy with his parents some thirty years ago; I've never been. Of course we've seen The Longest Day where John Wayne demonstrates one of these things!
