Stopped by this cache on the way to the Subway Series game today. Gave the TB a nice tour of the new and old.

  • TB Visits Shea home plate The original Shea Stadium basepaths and pitching rubber are marked by plaques in Citi Field parking lot B. These are used for wheelchair baseball games also.
  • Tony and TB visit original Apple This is the original apple from Shea Stadium. Where originally stashed in the Bullpen Gate at Citi, it has a new prominent position right between the Willets Point subway station and the Jackie Robinson rotunda behind home plate.
  • Matt and TB at World Series trophy At Shea, the World Series trophies were hidden in the Press Level near the resturants. You needed to follow an orange line up the ramps from the Field Level to get there (almost like caching!) The trophies are now prominently displayed in the museum.
  • TB takes a rest One of the many cool artifacts at the Mets Hall of Fame and Museum are seats from Shea that you can sit in. Try that in the Bronx! :P
  • TB gets ready for Subway Series TB went to Mets vs. Yanks today and sees a win!
  • A Happy Recap Put it in the books! Rivera blows the save in the 9th for the Yanks, Mets win in 10!
