Os incêndios florestais propiciam condições para o surgimento de situações complexas que são normalmente potenciadas por condições meteorológicas extremas de difícil ou muito curta previsão, podendo originar perdas de bens e vidas humanas, exigindo por isso a preparação e organização de um dispositivo adequado para os enfrentar e resolver, através da intervenção de forças de protecção e socorro quer na defesa da floresta, enquanto bem estratégico do País, quer na protecção das populações e do ambiente.

Assim é instituído um Dispositivo Especial de Combate a Incêndios Florestais (DECIF), que garante em permanência, nos níveis nacional, distrital e municipal, a resposta operacional adequada e articulada, em conformidade com os graus de gravidade e probabilidade de incêndios florestais
durante os períodos de perigo considerado.Slodd

Special Device to Combat Forest Fires 2011
Forest fires provide conditions for the emergence of complex situations that are usually underpinned by extreme weather conditions or very difficult to forecast short and can cause loss of civilian lives and therefore requires the preparation and organization of a suitable device for the face and resolve by the intervention of protection and rescue forces or in defense of the forest as a strategic asset of the country, both in protecting the public and the environment.

Thus is created a special device to Combat Forest Fires (DECIF), which guarantees at all times, at the national, district and municipal operational response appropriate and articulated in accordance with the degrees of severity and likelihood of forest fires during periods considered dangerous.
