Current Goal

The ultimate mission for this travel bug is to reach the South Korean city of Gwangju (광주). In order for this to happen, the travel bug should first make its way to the West Coast where there I hope it will be able to cross the Pacific Ocean and reach its home in South Korea. If a geocacher is able to bring the travel bug to South Korea before it reaches the West Coast this would also be great. Please move the travel bug from cache to cache as fast as possible as I am planning a trip to South Korea in the summer of 2012. It would be awesome if I was able to reunite with the travel bug while in South Korea and bring it back to the states. Lastly, feel free to post pictures with the travel bug as it makes the journey to South Korea! Hwaiting!!!!

The buk (북) is a traditional Korean drum. While the term buk is a Korean word used as a generic term meaning drum, it is most often used to refer to a shallow barrel-shaped drum, with a round wooden body that is covered on both ends with animal skin. Buk are categorized as hyeokbu (혁부), which are instruments made with leather, and has been used for jeongak (정악), Korean court music, and folk music. The buk used for court music are usually fixed with nails on the rims, while ones used for folk music are usually tied up with leather straps to form the shape. Performers in the court music usually beat their buk with bukchae (북채), a drumstick, on one hand or two hands together, while drummers in the folk music commonly beat their buk with it on their right hand as hitting the other side of the buk with their bare left hand. The buk on the key chain is a soebuk (쇠북), which is a metal drum, and is included in the buk category.

Saw this cool trackable in a cache today. Didn't take it however since I'm actually heading towards the east coast in a few weeks.

Found in nice, fairly secluded cache. Is this a metal drum?
