To visit as many fishing holes as possible.
Bob was my Dad and he loved to fish. He especially liked to catch bass. The bigger the better. Funny how few made it home as they were always too little and he released them back into the fishing spot where he caught them.
Dad taught me to fish when I was just a little girl. I even had to bait my own hooks. Dad always said that if you are going to fish, you need to know how to bait your own hook and how to clean a fish (have to confess, Dad always ended up cleaning my fish, but I watched). I'll never forget the day my brother and I caught two stringers of bluegill within an hour and didn't even bait our hooks once. We were on his grandmother's land in southern Indiana where there was a large private lake. I remember it was raining, but the sun was shining. The bluegill seemed to think the rain drops falling on the water were food, so we just dipped our hooks in the water and they would grab at them. Dad just beamed his crooked smile at us when we told him the story. That is a memory I'll never forget.
Dad has been fishing in Heaven since April 11, 1998, but this memory will be in his little girl's heart forever. RIP Bob!
