Current Goal

This travel bug started at the home of William Foster Milne in Barre, Vermont.  It started its travel on 6/19/2011, to the grave site of William Foster Milne in Banff, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.  Once it arrives please keep it in the closest geocache to the Milne grave, so local Boy Scouts will know to honor the memory of "Billy Milne".
William F. Milne was the first Scoutmaster in American and started the Boy Scout Club in Barre, Vermont by 1909.  Please review the story at http://FirstBoyScout.com.
The goal of this travel bug is to go from the home Billy Milne built in Barre, Vermont, USA as a thank you message for his contributions to Vermont and the youth he served well here for his very short life of only 34 years.
Now lets see if we can send this message and the travel bug to the Banff Cemetary in Scotland.  This thank you is 100 years overdue!.  Our goal is to share this story and travel bug with Billy Milne's fellow citizens of Scotland.  In September of 2018 we hope to erect a 9 foot memorial statue in the very heart of Barre, Vermont where Billy lived, worked and died at the age of 34.

As an update for August, 2018, we have a solid granite monument being sculpted as a tribute to the First Boy Scout Club in America here in Barre, Vermont.  This will be completed and dedicated in November of this year, and I am so glad that this travel bug is still going after 7 years and some 24,000 miles.
