As I was signing the log of a cache I found in the hills north-west of Christchurch, one of the non-geocaching friends I was walking with handed this coin to me to place in the cache. Claire had obtained it from a friend of hers some time ago. When I went to log it, I found it wasn't activated, so I activated it, so that I could log it's location. I guess it makes me the 'owner' (my fist trackable), but acknowledgement and thanks go to the original purchaser and to Claire.
This GC commerates the lives lost (including Isaac, a close friend of my daughter) in the 22 February 2011 earthquake - the most devasting of the major quakes Christchurch experienced following the initial 7.1 quake on 4 September 2010 - a jolting experience I don't wish to repeat.
