To celebrate the 200th anniversary of our national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner", Francis Scott's Key Travel Bug would like to move along our great nation and visit interesting places. "Oh say can you see?...."
Whether you're talking baseball or American battles, victory is something Baltimore natives take very seriously and with reason. During the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812, it was the bombardment of Fort Mchenry that inspired the national anthem. After spotting the American flag waving in the aftermath, Francis Scott Key wrote the poem that would eventually become "The Star-Spangled Banner". Not to mention the opening of every game at the Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Baseball is enormously popular in Baltimore. Would you expect anything less in the city where the legendary "Babe" Ruth was born?
