TRACKABLE #2 OF OUR CLASSIC CARS SERIES - THIS 1953 50TH ANNIVERSARY BUICK SUPER CONVERTIBLE IS LOOKING FOR ITS "FULL-SIZED" PARENTS.  PLEASE MOVE ALONG AND HOPEFULLY TAKE PICTURES WITH SAME MAKE, YEAR, AND MODEL CARS (I.E. TAKE THIS TRACKABLE TO CLASSIC CAR SHOWS, IF POSSIBLE), AND ULTIMATELY WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE A PICTURE OF THIS TRACKABLE WITH THE IDENTICAL VEHICLE, INCLUDING COLOUR (DARK GREEN WITH BEIGE INTERIOR). . . ONCE THE IDENTICLE VEHICLE IS FOUND, THE OWNER OF SAID VEHICLE IS WELCOME TO KEEP THE TRACKABLE, ON THE CONDITION THAT WE ARE NOTIFIED THAT IT HAS REACHED ITS FINAL DESTINATION . . THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF MAKING OUR DREAM COME TRUE.

About This Item

WIND IN THE HAIR

1953 was Buick's 50th anniversary, and the division celebrated in superb style with the introduction of the Buick super convertible. The new Buick was spacious and beautiful. It was fitted with the finest finishes and fabrics ever seen on an American car. "When better automobiles are built, Buick will build them," was the slogan used by Buick in 1953, and it was right! Performance, design and exquisite styling all in one super car!

Well.....So much for finding a home for this TB at the Carlisle GM Nationals Car Event today. There were a total of 4 (yes, four), Buicks on-scene for display and a few others For Sale. None came anywhere near this 53 Buick Super. I did speak with a guy who had a 53 Buick Skylark at home but said to keep looking. I will try and re-place the TB in a cache in eastern PA this summer. Hopefully, someone can make it to the 50th Annual Buick Club of America show in Allentown, PA in July, 2016. Good luck finding it a home.

Picked up TB at Adirondack Museum cache with the plan to drop in Ireland next month. But, just read your goal and willing to try to find the home you wished. Currently it is residing in Harrisburg, PA area with the big car shows in nearby Carlisle. Never been to one of the shows but will try and get there in the future to see if the real thing is sitting on the site. Can't make the Fall Carlisle Event in October but will hold until the Carlisle GM National Show next June. I will try and see if anyone I know is going in October. Wish me luck. Any '53 Buick Convertible do? Or only green with tan interior?

Way cool historic Old Forge Hardware store in the middle of the Adirondacks, built in 1902 by one of the first settlers, to sell supplies to the other first settlers.

We took your classic car out on the water today (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang style!) for some kayakaching. Planned to drop it at this "small" cache, but it turned out to be a micro in disguise.

I was born in the 60's and spent my childhood riding in the back seat of my mom's Skylark and my dad's Monte Carlo (later upgraded to a Cutlass). But I'm afraid the closest I could now get to a classic Oldsmobuick is our '67 Mustang. All of which is irrelevant, as the reason my 6-y.o. daughter chose this particular TB from the Hotel is simply because she loves matchbox cars.

  • our classic convertible is a younger Ford
