I'd like to visit Stoke Mandeville in Buckinghamshire and maybe I'll be lucky enough to travel to Rio in time for the next Paralympic games.
Hi, I'm Mandeville, the official mascot for the London 2012 Paralympic games.
I'm named after Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire (England), which organised the Stoke Mandeville Games for the first time in 1948. These games are considered to be the precursor to the Paralympics.
The three spikes on my helmet represent the Paralympic Agitos. Aagito means "I move" in Latin, and is a symbol of movement in the shape of an asymmetrical crescent. My agitos are coloured red, blue, and green for the three colours that are most widely represented in national flags around the world. However today I am wearing my patrotic Union Jack look and waving my Union Jack flag tag.
