So this bug wan't to visit the Olympic Village in London at some point soon? Well, I figured that the bug would like a slight detour to this Olympic Stadium... and there is a (currently disabled cache) right next to the stadium. http://coord.info/GC2FRHC
I knew that actually visiting the cache was a no-no whilst disabled, particularly as the cache is in the end of the car park that is being used by Olympic Staff (for queue control, I think). However, a photograph from the supermarket end of the car park would be fine.
I turned up on the day of the women's England match in the quarter finals (they sadly got knocked out at this stage, but that didn't happen till later in the day), but fortunately no one was there when I got there. Loads of people in fluorescent jackets for marshalling, but very few supporters.
I parked up near the boundary between public and the now private area of the car park, and went to take my photos. There were a couple of marshals standing by a gap in the hedge, and as I wanted to get a little bit closer, I asked them if I could please possibly come through and take the photos.
They said yes, and we chatted for a little while before getting down to the pics. One of them held the bug and we managed to get a shot or two of it "parked" on the roof. Then the other took off his hat, placed the bug on it, and held it for the final photo.
I thanked them profusely, and headed back to the car. It was as I was walking back I had a sudden thought... I think I was taking the photos whilst standing right next to the cache!!!
