I was out to get 18 caches before my birthday bash next weekend http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=814ec00e-e314-4eb7-9d32-156c593e326d GC3B6BY. I was hopeful and had 22 caches lined up to guarantee me 17 smileys.
I was cycling along the tow path, in the mid January frost. We where cracking the ice on the puddles while riding along and sure enough getting covered in mud. Our trail finished at Halsall an from here we cycled back to Ormskirk.
All went well until later in the trail when we picked up a couple of punctures meaning road/canal side repairs became necessary, however these frustrations where soon forgotten as we melted into the peacefulness of cycling the deserted tow path.
