De haas, de schildpad en de slak

    De haas en de schildpadis een van de fabels van Aesop, een verzameling fabels over dieren die door de Griekse slaaf Aesopusomstreeks de 6e eeuw voor Christus zouden zijn geschreven.
In de fabel over de haasen de schildpadhouden de twee dieren een wedloop. De haas denkt makkelijk te zullen winnen en spant zich totaal niet in. Onderweg denkt hij gerust een dutje te kunnen doen, maar als hij wakker wordt, heeft de schildpad de finish al bereikt. Zo verliest de haas toch de wedstrijd.
De moraal van het verhaal is dat hardlopers doodlopers zijn en dat langzaam-maar-zeker-werk tot goede resultaten leidt.
 
In geocachingheb je de getrainde, snelle pakkers (haas), die voor de score gaan en de langzaam hun weg zoekende  cachers (schildpad of slak), die genieten van een goede mystery cache of een multi cache.  Daar is geen wedstrijd van te maken.
Het moraal van de fabel gaat niet op voor cachers, omdat ieder dit op zijn eigen wijze beleefd en er zijn plezier uithaalt. Maar toch willen we een eigen draai geven aan de fabel.
Dus wat als de slak, de schildpad en de haas ieder (op één moment) een trackable in 1 gevonden cache stoppen. Wie reist er dan de langste afstand?
Wij, team Robert & Miranda, Baxxie en Freule Dousa zijn benieuwd, maken de slak en de schildpad een kans …….?

The hare and the turtle is one of the fables of Aesop, a collection of fables about animals by the Greek slave Aesop, they were written around the 6th century BC. In the fable about the hare and the turtle the two animals race against each other. The hare thinks  he will win easily and don’t strive at all. Along the way he does not hesitate to take a nap, but when he wakes up, the turtle has already reached the finish. So the hare loses the race.
The moral of the story is:  slow and steady will win you the race.

In geocaching, you have the trained, fast catchers (hare), they will go for the score and there are slowly seeking cachers (turtle or snail), who enjoy a good Mystery Cache or a Multi Cache. There is not a race in it.
The moral of the fable is not true for cachers, because everyone enjoys geocaching at a different level. Yet we will have our own spin on the fable.
So what if the snail, the turtle and the hare all (at one time) place a trackable  in 1 cache. Who is traveling the longest distance?
We, team Robert & Miranda, Baxxie and Freule Dousa are curious, will the snail and the turtle have a chance .....?
