About This Sponsored Trackable:
Helping millions of people save money with GEICO's great insurance rates can be a demanding job for a Gecko. Like many of us, the GEICO Gecko is ready to get out of the office and soak up some sun while experiencing spectacular places around the world (well, rain or shine). You can help the Gecko get a little R&R by aiding his travel from cache to cache. Be sure to show him the great views along the way!

This trackable Gecko is provided by GEICO as part of the "Find the Gecko Sweepstakes." Simply fill out the entry form and you could win a Magellan eXplorist GC GPS unit, one of the most popular GPS devices for geocaching! There will be one unit given away each week for 20 weeks. Enter each week to increase your chances!

This is not collectible.

Current Goal

This tiny thunder lizard wants to stomp around the globe visiting & having his picture taken at dinosaur- & lizard-themed geocaches & landmarks. Please help speed him on his way!

About This Item

In 1879, Othniel Charles Marsh, a Professor of Paleontology at Yale University, announced the discovery of a skeletal specimen at Como Bluff Wyoming Brontosaurus excelsus, meaning "thunder lizard", from the Greek brontē/βροντη meaning 'thunder' and sauros/σαυρος meaning 'lizard', and from the Latin excelsus, "highest, sublime", referring to the greater number of sacral vertebrae than in any other genus of sauropod known at the time. This outspoken, but much-smaller distant relative finds GIECO & geocaching "so easy a caveman can do it".

Discovered It 11/17/2018 JaCaBo discovered it   Visit Log

I’m finally logging this trackable that I spotted at an event (or a related cache) and noted down the code. Back then, I didn’t realize how important it might be one day to actually log these cool trackables online. I just thought it was all about letting them travel and see the world. That’s what I focused on. Thanks a lot for showing it!

Dropped Off 10/29/2011 No_Fear_Geocaching placed it in 2011 Texas Drive Meet-n-Greet...Relocated Michigan - 40.06 miles  Visit Log

Placed it on display at GC35EP7 "2011 Texas Drive Meet-n-Greet...Relocated" from whence it was apparently stolen. While I do not like to make such a strong accusation, since no one bothered to log that they retrieved Brontosaurus Minimus, the only logical conclusion is that someone decided to illegally add it to their own collection.

If you have my Geico Travel Tag in your possession, please mail it back to me:
