Stupid person burries beans in the wood
The beginning of an addiction

USA. On May the 3rd in teh year 2000 D. Ulmer, near Portland in Oregan, burries a bucket, which includes also a can of beans in the wood. Uncarefully he postet the coordinates of the bucket in the intenet an a day later N.Findus found the Stash. At end of may, the stashes have beend renamed to geocaches an would be listed on geocaching.com.
Nowadays, 10 years later, there are more than 1 million caches in mor than 200 countries, most of them in USA (about 500.000). Every 8th geocache is hidden in germany (about 130.000), maybe only a stone's throw away from you. More information could be found on e.g. www.geocaching.com, www.cachewiki.de or in self-help-groups like geoclub.de.
