My lifelong dream has always been to visit Ireland. Well, I finally got that chance in 2017. When I saw this tag I knew I had to have one so here I am.
We flew into Shannon and traveled the West coast up and over to Northern Ireland. My Mitchell heritage is Ireland via Scotland with Scandinavia and Great Britain tied in. I was with a tour from the Berkshires and no other cachers. I made a list of all the places I could landmark with 15 opportunities on the list.... I got 8!!!! 3 of them at the birthplace of the Titanic!
We made a pit stop on our first full day there on the way to visit some of the old foundations from homes that didn't survive after the famine. This one pull off had two different signs on opposite ends of the parking area. After everybody on the bus went to the nearest one I decided to go to the other one first and I just happened to look up and Bam! A cache! I was so excited!!! We even visited the sister city of Pittsfield.
As of 2019 that is the furthest North and the furthest east place I have cached.
