About This Item

TESSA is afgeleid van THERESIA

Betekenis
Herkomst niet zeker; verschillende mogelijkheden worden geopperd:
1] hangt samen met het Griekse woord 'theros' = 'warmte', 'zomer', 'oogst';
20e eeuw onbekend);
2] hangt samen met het Griekse woord 'thèraein' = 'jagen'; dus: 'jageres';

TESSA is derived from THERESA

Meaning
Origin is not sure; different possibilities are suggested:
1] hangs together with the Greek word ' theros ' = ' heat ', ' summer ', ' harvest ';
So: ' harvester ' (also: ' woman who gives warmth? "seems to be motivated by the notion of the 20e century culture; the concept of ‘warmth-human ' was to the 60s of the 20th century unknown);
2] hangs together with the Greek word ' thèraein ' = ' hunt '; so: ' Huntress ';
3] depends on the Greek island of Thera, now known as Thira or Santorin; so: ' Woman of Thera '. For this meaning, the fact that one of the first women who bore this name, was known to Therasia: she was the wife of St. Paulinus of Nola, and of Spanish descent; 5th century. That is why this name especially on the Iberian Peninsula has traditionally been a large expansion.

I drove 2,5 hours to Agios Giorgos today, and then swam half an hour, and then climbed the island and took the whole cache of Ancient Island with me - it is now archived - and returned. I took the travel bug with me and will place it in another easily accesable cache in Cyprus soon. Kind regards, Mirco (owner of the Ancient Island cache).
