About This Item

IMG_0061

Hello!

I am a sixth grade social studies teacher and recently taught my five classes of students about Geocaching. As an ongoing activity, and to get the students more interested and involved, we decided to have a contest between my different classes. We are releasing five travel bugs. We are going to see which travel bug visits the most states and which travel bug travels the most miles. If you find any of these travel bugs, please keep my students happy and keep them moving.

Thank you for all your help,
Mr. Anderson

Whoo-hoo!! PROJECT-GC has come up with the easiest way to log mutliple trackables, so I am backlogging all the trackables I have found in the last two-three years. Whoo-hoo! I hope all of these trackables are still out enjoying adventures in the geocaching world! Thanks for sharing!

After doing a round in California and Nevada, dropping this at the Cal-Neva state line. Left a note in the bag with the TB noting it needed to head east.

You should take a look at the cache this passed through. Lots of interesting history and information about the Wonder Mine.

I had to come up to Truckee from San Jose on business this weekend. Did a little caching in the area, but the main goal was out east of Fallon. Did a loop of offroading with the Xterra, including the Wonder Mine region. Weather started out great, but went downhill as the day progressed. Very high winds. Rain at times. Dust storms around Sand Mountain. Even got some snow out by Wonder Mine! There was 2-3" of snow on the ground and the cars at the condo when I got back to Olympic Valley this evening. Freaky for May.

A visit to the Anasazi ruins in a remote part of Grand Canyon National Park. Surprisingly, lots of green places and lots of water in this area, prime territory for a frog.

On another grand adventure with my brother in the Grand Canyon. This trip was from the South Rim to Clear Creek. We hit some big winds the second day. They were nearly blowing us off the trail at times. Later heard the gusts were in the 50+mph range. Snow on our fifth day as we were hiking out Bright Angel.

I have seen Desert Bighorn Sheep before, but my first sighting of them within the Canyon occurred the first day. Spotted a loan young ram above the trail near the River House. Add a condor floating above camp on the fourth day and I have two of the three gotta see critters for the Canyon on my list. Just need to find one of those pink Grand Canyon rattlesnakes now. Some would say I should add mountain lions, but like the elk and mule deer, I find them a common critter in my travels.
