About This Item

-=+=- New To Travel Bugs? -=+=-

If so, welcome to a whole new world of geocaching possibilities! Trackables are physical game pieces that move from geocache to geocache. Types of trackables include: geocoins, tags, t-shirts, and more! Use the tracking code on the trackable to look up its goal. Log trackables in order to move them along. Learn more about trackables at https://www.geocaching.com/track/

-=+=- Retrieve, Log, Drop, It's That Simple -=+=-

Now that you have found a travel bug, you need to log it online. By logging it, you will alert the owner that the travel bug is in your possession and it will be moved into your profile queue online. Learn how to do retrieve, log, and drop travel bugs at https://www.geocaching.com/track/howto.aspx. After you log retrieve it, check out the TB's goal, and complete it if you can. If not, PLEASE TRY TO MOVE IT ALONG WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF OBTAINING IT. If you would need to hold onto this travel bug for longer than two weeks (per personal or geocaching related reasons) please contact the owner.

-=+=- The End Goal -=+=-

Every travel bug has an end goal, a challenge it wants to complete or a destination it would like to reach. You can check out this TB's goal above. It is ok if you cannot complete the goal entirely on your own, you aren't supposed to! That is the glorious thing about the geocaching community. Try to move it closer to its goal, if possible. When a goal has been completed, I will post below and attach any memorable pictures or logs from its trip!

After over 1,330 miles traveled through 2 States, and 18 caches visited since we retrieved Ramone on September 18, 2021, in Ames, Iowa, we were on Route 66, so it was time to hand Ramone off to someone else to get it further on its journey!!

Goodbye Ramone!! We had a short, but great ride, and we’re glad that we were able to take you to places that you had never been before and to add a key chain to join your journey – one for Route 66!!

Attached is a picture of Ramone and its new hitchhiker with the Giant Jackrabbit for which this cache was named!! Enjoy!!

    Safe travels!!

    • Giant Jackrabbit Roadside Attraction
    • Ramone and the Giant Jackrabbit, Joseph City, AZ. Jack Rabbit Trading Post’s Giant Rabbit is one of Arizona’s best roadside attractions. The huge fiberglass rabbit invites travelers to saddle up at this iconic Arizona Route 66 stop. Capturing a photo with the rabbit is so Insta-worthy that there’s an entire page dedicated to visitors’ images.
The outpost opened during the 1940s. It’s mainly known for its Wall Drug-style signage and “Here It Is” billboard. Some describe the Giant Rabbit as Route 66 kitsch at its finest.

We finally made it to Route 66 in Holbrook, AZ!!

Attached are a couple of pictures of Ramone with its new hitchhiker near this cache!!

    • Ramone and its new hitchhiker
    • Ramone and its new hitchhiker in Holbrook, AZ Cherished for its roadside Americana charm, Holbrook, AZ, sits within the Painted Desert. From the whitewashed concrete and steel teepees in the Wigwam Village on Route 66, to the downtown courthouse visitor’s center which introduces you to other historical sites like the Bucket of Blood Saloon and the Blevins House, where a shootout between the gangsters and the sheriff occurred, the history of the people is more than matched by the geological wonders here, including the Petrified Forest.

Before we head North tomorrow for Holbrook, AZ, where we'll drop Ramone along Route 66, attached is one last picture of Ramone in Scottsdale, Arizona, taken not too far from this cache!!

It is from the back roof deck of our house looking across the Salt River-Pima Indian Reservation, with Camelback Mountain in the distance.

    Enjoy!!

    • Ramone and Camelback Mountain, Phoenix, AZ. The name of Camelback Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona, is derived from its shape, which resembles the hump and head of a kneeling camel. The mountain, a prominent landmark of the Phoenix metropolitan area, is located in the Camelback Mountain Echo Canyon Recreation Area between the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix and the town of Paradise Valley. It is a popular recreation destination for hiking and rock climbing.
